ShapeHero Factory Drops Major New Update With Fresh Game Mode, New Hero, and Quality-of-Life Upgrades

ShapeHero Factory

Factory-building fans have a big reason to jump back in as Asobism rolls out a major new content update for ShapeHero Factory, the unique factory-builder, tower defense roguelike available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5.

The update is live now across all platforms, delivering a brand-new way to play, expanded music options, long-requested quality-of-life features, and a powerful new hero. To celebrate, ShapeHero Factory is also available at a 25% discount on Steam for a limited time.

A New Way to Play With Minions’ Dan Dojo Mode

The highlight of this update is Minions’ Dan Dojo, an entirely new game mode designed for players who want to focus purely on optimization and creativity.

In this mode:

  • Combat is completely removed
  • There are no timers or roguelike pressure
  • Players work with limited resources to optimize factory layouts
  • Progress is measured through in-game achievements

Minions’ Dan Dojo offers a more relaxed, strategic experience and is expected to appeal strongly to traditional factory-builder fans who prefer efficiency and planning over combat intensity.

New Hero Joins the Factory: Dullahan

This update also introduces a brand-new Minion Master, Dullahan, expanding the game’s roster of heroes.

Dullahan specializes in:

  • Targeting the closest enemies
  • Summoning up to four clones
  • Applying burn effects to enemies during attacks

Players can unlock Dullahan’s recipe through a Surprise Event encountered during gameplay, adding another incentive to explore the update’s new content.

Long-Requested Quality-of-Life Improvements Arrive

Community feedback takes center stage with the addition of several highly requested improvements.

Box Selecting Feature

Players can now select facilities within a 12×12 grid, making it easier to move, delete, or manage multiple structures at once. Copy and paste functionality is available in Free Control mode to preserve game balance.

Extended Music Tracks

Previously looping background music has been expanded into full-length tracks, offering a more immersive experience. Players can freely switch between short and long versions in the options menu.

New Lobby Themes

Four new lobby themes have been added and can be unlocked for 100 Arcane Knowledge Points each, giving players more ways to personalize their experience.

ShapeHero Factory Continues Its Momentum

Since launch, ShapeHero Factory has quickly gained attention, topping Steam’s New & Trending charts and reaching number one on the Nintendo Switch 2 download rankings. The game blends automation, factory building, tower defense, and roguelike mechanics into a highly replayable loop built around constant improvement.

In ShapeHero Factory, players design a paint-fueled factory that produces magical, shape-based warriors. These minions are sent into battle, and whether they succeed or fail, each run fuels smarter designs and stronger strategies in the next.
