Spry Fox is bringing cozy gamers something new to look forward to in 2026, as the studio officially announced that Spirit Crossing will launch on PC via Steam next year. Revealed during the December 9 Wholesome Snack event, the upcoming MMO also debuted a brand-new trailer showcasing its warm aesthetic, community-driven gameplay, and ever-changing world.
The announcement comes shortly after Spry Fox confirmed its upcoming transition back into an independent studio, spinning out from Netflix after nearly two years. While Spry Fox will independently publish the PC version of Spirit Crossing, Netflix will continue to handle mobile publishing for players who access the game through their membership.
A Cozy MMO Built on Community and Creativity
Spirit Crossing describes itself as a “cozy MMO,” emphasizing shared experiences, creativity, and personal connection in a beautiful, dynamic world. Players are encouraged to explore at their own pace, take in peaceful vistas, join fishing tournaments, or simply savor a sunrise—alone or with friends.
Upon entering the world, each player becomes part of a Waystation: a thriving, evolving community hub that players build, customize, and strengthen through acts of kindness. From mural painting and dancing to collaborative harvesting, these spaces are designed to feel alive, welcoming, and ever-changing. Players can travel between Waystations to meet others, discover new communities, and relax in shared spaces.

Social interaction sits at the heart of Spirit Crossing. Its unique friendship progression system unlocks features over time, including proximity voice chat, special two-player emotes, instant teleportation, and meaningful gift-giving options.
