The stars are aligning for Starfinder: Afterlight, the upcoming story-rich, turn-based RPG set in Paizo’s beloved sci-fantasy universe. Developer Epictellers Entertainment has unveiled the game’s first two companions, Tycho and Kole, while also announcing that award-winning actor Neil Newbon (Baldur’s Gate 3, Resident Evil Village) will serve as the game’s voice director.
The game is slated for Early Access on PC via Steam in 2026, with a Kickstarter campaign launching this October 2025.
Meet the First Two Companions: Tycho and Kole
Starfinder: Afterlight emphasizes meaningful relationships with companions who bring depth and personality to the journey—not just stats. The first two revealed characters highlight this design philosophy:
- Kole (Soldier) – Born into a military family, Kole turned his back on tradition to chase his dream of becoming an action film hero. His bold nature brings energy and humor to the crew.
- Tycho (Operative) – A gifted inventor with a past shaped by betrayal and deception. Tycho struggles to trust others, making his guarded demeanor a contrast to Kole’s outgoing charm.
A teaser trailer showcasing both characters is now live, giving fans their first glimpse of the duo in action.
Neil Newbon to Lead the Voice Cast
Epictellers is aiming high on performance quality, bringing in Neil Newbon as voice director. Known for his standout roles in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Resident Evil Village, Newbon will oversee every aspect of the voice acting process—from casting to final delivery—ensuring that performances match the game’s creative vision.
Two acclaimed actors have already joined the project:
- Inel Tomlinson (Dragon Age, Final Fantasy XVI) as Tycho
- Fred Tatasciore (Mass Effect, Overwatch, Marvel Rivals) as Kole
A Sci-Fantasy Adventure with High Stakes
Set in the Starfinder TTRPG universe and based on Second Edition rules, Starfinder: Afterlight blends narrative-driven storytelling with turn-based tactical combat. Players take the role of a space crew member whose captain has mysteriously vanished. With the galaxy on the brink of annihilation, they must:
