Life sim fans can start counting down the days until they step ashore on Starsand Island. Developer Seed Lab has officially confirmed that the cozy, anime-inspired life simulator will launch on PC and consoles on February 1, 2026. The announcement was made at Tokyo Game Show 2025, where attendees are already getting a first look at its charming island world.
A Slice of Island Life
Starsand Island follows a protagonist who leaves behind the hectic pace of city living to return to their childhood island home. Players will nurture crops, fish in sparkling waters, raise animals, and unearth the secrets of mysterious ruins hidden across the island. Along the way, they’ll meet quirky locals, form lasting bonds, and discover a slower, more meaningful way of life.
Play Before Launch: Alpha Test and Demo
Ahead of release, Seed Lab is inviting select players to a closed alpha test, offering an early chance to help shape the experience. Fans won’t have to wait long for hands-on time either: a free demo will debut on October 8, 2025, just ahead of Steam Next Fest (October 13–20). This sneak peek will allow would-be islanders to sample farming, building, and community life before launch.
Build the Home of Your Dreams
Creativity is at the core of Starsand Island. With an extensive construction system, players can design and build anything from a cozy cottage to a grand manor. Homes can be fully customized inside and out with a wide range of decorations and furniture. Multiplayer functionality will allow friends to join in and help craft each other’s dream retreats, with additional collaborative and social features planned post-launch.

Beyond building, Starsand Island offers rich character customization. Players can fine-tune facial features, skin tones, hairstyles, and makeup, then complete the look with a vast wardrobe of outfits and accessories.
