Teamfight Tactics: K.O. Coliseum Set Reveal — TFT Enters the Anime Arena with Explosive New Champions, Traits, and Competitive Esports Circuit

Teamfight Tactics

The battlefield is buzzing, the announcer is hyped, and the champions are ready to brawl. Riot Games has officially unveiled Teamfight Tactics: K.O. Coliseum, the anime-fueled 15th set of TFT launching on PBE servers July 15, with a full global release on PC and mobile platforms July 30, 2025.

Set inside Whisker’s ultimate anime fighting tournament, K.O. Coliseum invites players to build their dream team of magic girls, shonen legends, monstrous mechs, and more in a no-holds-barred, over-the-top strategy brawl. With new game mechanics, wild traits, fresh cosmetics, and a revamped competitive system, this is the most action-packed TFT set yet.

Enter the Arena: Champions & Traits Galore

K.O. Coliseum’s roster reads like a shonen anime dream team. Returning TFT original Kobuko joins alongside iconic champions like Seraphine, Braum, Twisted Fate, Gwen, Varus, Yone, and Zyra, with new traits like Soul Fighter, Luchador, Crystal Gambit, and the hilarious Monster Trainer Lulu, who fights alongside a trio of summonable mini-monsters.

Among the standout new traits:

  • Soul Fighter: Stacking power and true damage as fights progress
  • Star Guardian: Powering up through friendship-based team synergy
  • Crystal Gambit: A high-stakes risk-reward economy trait
  • Mighty Mech: Build your way to an unstoppable mech monster
  • Wraith: Deal damage from the Shadow Realm while healing the weakest unit
  • Stance Master: Choose your battle form as Lee Sin and change how he fights
  • Monster Trainer: Play Lulu and summon Rammus, Kog’Maw, or Smolder into battle

The set also introduces Prismatic Traits, which now require players to hit the highest breakpoint and complete mini-quests to unlock game-changing power spikes.

New Set Mechanic: Power Ups

Power Ups are the marquee mechanic of K.O. Coliseum. By feeding Power Snax to champions, players unlock armories of empowering options. Want to turn a basic unit into an unstoppable anime protagonist? Power them up! Want to try again with a new carry? You can pop it off and reapply it to another champion.

Combined with 120 new Augments—70 of which introduce totally new mechanics—this system gives players even more creative flexibility. Highlights include:

  • Tournament Favorites: Gain loot by dominating with Soul Fighters
  • Tiny Team: Make vertical traits viable as powerful mini-comps
  • Diamond Hands: Go big or go broke with Crystal Gambit

Cosmetic Upgrades and Anime Aesthetics

K.O. Coliseum brings an anime aesthetic explosion, including:

  • Chibi Spirit Blossom Lillia
  • Prestige Chibi Spirit Blossom Ahri
  • High Noon Thresh Unbound
  • The Veiled Village Arena

Additionally, anime-inspired Portal Skins like The Way of the K.O., God Weapon, and Portal of the First Star return for more customization.

Revamped Roles and Mana Systems

Unit roles are being reimagined in K.O. Coliseum. Expect:

  • More melee carries and unique skill types
  • Reworked mana generation, especially for tanks and defensive units
  • Smarter aggro and ultimate targeting, offering more dynamic fights

These tweaks ensure a more balanced, satisfying experience—especially for edge-case interactions like splash damage unintentionally supercharging enemy carries.

TFT Pro Circuit Debuts with K.O. Coliseum

Alongside the set release, Riot is launching the TFT Pro Circuit (TPC)—a new Tier 1 esports system that will transform competitive TFT. Featuring three elite events during K.O. Coliseum’s lifespan, the first tournament begins August 29 with 32 top players from four global regions qualifying via Set 14: Cyber City.

This marks a major step for TFT esports, building on player feedback to create a more stable, rewarding, and watchable tournament experience.

TFT Paris Open Expands to 768 Players

The TFT Open (TPO) returns bigger than ever at Porte de Versailles in Paris, now hosting 768 players—a 50% increase in size. Players can join the open bracket LAN, attend developer panels, visit an Artist Alley, and participate in side events or a 4v4 knockout tournament on Day 2.

  • Presales begin September 8
  • Details go live August 20

What the Devs Are Saying

“K.O. Coliseum is a love letter to the anime fighting tournament genre,” said Michael Sloan, Lead Set Designer. “With Power Ups, we’re letting players skip the training arc and jump straight into the action-packed battles they love.”

Michael Sherman, Director of TFT & 2XKO Esports, added: “The launch of K.O. Coliseum and the debut of the TFT Pro Circuit make this the most transformative moment in TFT history. With the Paris Open, we’re celebrating the depth and passion of TFT’s global community.”
