Bandai Namco is turning up the heat this summer with major updates coming to TEKKEN 8. From film collaborations and retro arcade tributes to the return of a fan-favorite fighter, the next wave of content promises to redefine the legendary fighting franchise for a new generation.
Unveiled at EVO Japan and through recent announcements from Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., TEKKEN 8 is set to receive a trio of massive updates across Versions 2.01 to 2.03, including a high-profile Karate Kid: Legends crossover, a PAC-MAN 45th Anniversary celebration, and the long-anticipated return of Fahkumram.
Whether you’re a hardcore competitor or a casual player, there’s something in the ring for everyone this summer.

🥋 Karate Kid: Legends Joins the Fight – First Film Collaboration in TEKKEN History
Launching June 2, 2025, as part of the Version 2.02 update, TEKKEN 8 will celebrate its first-ever movie collaboration with Sony Pictures’ Karate Kid: Legends, hitting theaters in the U.S. and Canada on May 30 and internationally from May 8.
In-game, players can “Unleash Your Inner Warrior” with the exclusive Karate Kid: Legends Hoodie, a limited-time free cosmetic available in the TEKKEN Shop. In addition, the Urban Square stage will be updated with Karate Kid-themed billboards, while the TEKKEN Fight Lounge will feature promotional visuals and a special in-game trailer showcasing the film’s action-packed legacy.
“This is more than just a crossover—it’s a tribute to martial arts cinema and the indomitable spirit of fighters,” said Bandai Namco in a press release.

👊 Fahkumram Returns: Muay Thai Powerhouse Headlines Summer DLC
One of the most electrifying characters from TEKKEN 7 is back. Fahkumram, the towering Muay Thai master, is set to join the roster in Version 2.03, arriving later in Summer 2025.
First teased during EVO Japan, his comeback marks the next major character DLC in TEKKEN 8 and will be available as part of the Season 2 Character & Stage Pass. Known for his brutal strikes and intimidating presence, Fahkumram’s addition is expected to shake up the competitive scene in a big way.
👾 Celebrating 45 Years of PAC-MAN: Retro Vibes Meet Modern Combat
Also rolling out in Version 2.03, TEKKEN 8 is throwing a retro arcade party in honor of PAC-MAN’s 45th anniversary. The celebration includes a slew of themed content:
- 🎮 PAC-PIXELS Battle Stage – A neon-lit stage bursting with classic PAC-MAN and Ghost motifs.
- 👕 45th Anniversary T-Shirt – Show off your arcade pride with a throwback tee.
- 💥 PAC-MAN Hit Effects – Watch pixels fly with themed attack animations.
- 🏐 PAC-MAN-Themed Tekken Ball – A quirky, nostalgic minigame twist.
- 🧸 Plushie Ghost (PAC-MAN) Pack – Adorable new accessories for your fighters.
Most of the PAC-MAN content will be free via the Round 6 Fight Pass, while the new battle stage will be included with the Season 2 DLC.
🧠 Ghost Battles Get Smarter in Version 2.01
Already live, Version 2.01 introduced a major quality-of-life improvement with TEKKEN Ghost Showdown in the Fight Lounge. This new feature lets players pit their custom-trained AI ghosts against each other in real-time, adding a new layer of strategic depth.
Other features include:
- Deletion of old Ghost data
- On/Off toggle for AI learning
- Enhanced player control over Ghost behavior and progress
🎮 TEKKEN 8: Still the King of the Ring
Built on Unreal Engine 5, TEKKEN 8 has set a new benchmark for visual fidelity and immersive fighting mechanics. Every character model has been completely redesigned, and new destructible environments add cinematic flair to every punch, kick, and combo.
