De La Salle’s Viridis Arcus stamped its class and ruled the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in the Campus Game Fest 2024 this past weekend at the Institute of Technical Education College Central in Singapore.
The squad, composed of Aaron Joshua “aaronqt” Lim, Joshua Nathaniel “Aspectzxc” Tating, Emerick Johann “Nec” Ching, Kent Xavier “Kevyr” Lopez, and Ryu Lewis “laytutu” Godoy, took home the gold with their perfect run in the tilt, capped off with a 2-0 sweep of the Institute of Technical Education from Singapore to bag the SGD2,500 prize in cash and scholarship.
It’s a fitting follow up to the Taft side’s triumph in the Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE) Season 4 as it cemented the Philippines’ position as the top country in the region when it comes to ML:BB.
Jed James “Bobps3” Soriano from De La Salle University – Dasmariñas also came away with the silver in the Street Fighter 6 tournament after falling to Singapore representative Scarlet. He did take home SGD600 in cash and scholarship.
It was a weekend to remember for Philippine representatives which also saw Next Gen Program winners Marlon Mattew Apilado and Czyra Jane Mangahas of Lyceum of the Philippines University, Shane Marcial Andoque from the University of Santo Tomas, and Valerie Byczko of Enderun Colleges participate in this event staged by the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA).
