Wicked Fox Games, a new independent studio, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its first game, Rise of Elements. This narrative-rich, champion-led competitive RPG combines a PvP elemental Match-3 puzzle mechanic with a deep storyline. The campaign, which runs from March 4 to April 3, 2025, offers backers exclusive rewards such as skins, closed playtesting, early access, physical items, and more.
A Decade in the Making Rise of Elements
Rise of Elements is the culmination of a prototype first created nearly a decade ago by Wicked Fox CEO Terry Redfield and a current team member. In the game, players compete in Argos’ Tournament of Champions to master the elements and save the world of Aetheron from the Void’s impending threat. The game features various single-player and multiplayer modes, including Timed, Moves, and Story modes, with potential for additional modes in the future.
Diverse Champions and Tactical Gameplay Rise of Elements
Players can choose from a roster of diverse champions, each with unique moves, strengths, weaknesses, and elemental abilities. This variety adds layers of tactical strategy to the gem-based gameplay. Wicked Fox plans to expand this aspect with new champions, battle arenas, and collaborations.
One notable collaboration is with streamer and TV host Trisha Hershberger, who voices and created the champion Cordelia, the Enthusiastic Inventor. Another collaboration in the works is with streamer and voice actress Lily Ki, also known as LilyPichu, for the future champion Emily, Queen of the Dead. Backers can follow the development of these champions and more.
Focus on Diversity and Relatable Stories
“One of the studio’s primary focuses is to create diverse characters and relatable stories – often rooted in a culture’s mythology, that will resonate and be accessible to a broad range of players,” said Redfield. “We truly enjoy working with these creators and our community to further develop these distinctive and detailed characters.”
Rise of Elements is slated for release in the second half of 2026 as a premium PC (Steam) and web-based game, with plans to expand to additional platforms. Players can join the community on Discord, wishlist the game on Steam, and back the campaign on Kickstarter. Follow Wicked Fox Games on X, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch to stay updated on the game’s development.
