Wild Rift Patch 7.1: Flat Out Brings New Champions, Major Gameplay Changes, and Racing-Themed Modes

Wild Rift

League of Legends: Wild Rift is shifting into high gear with Patch 7.1: Flat Out, a massive content update set to launch on April 9, 2026 (UTC). The latest update introduces three highly anticipated champions, sweeping gameplay improvements, revamped runes, updated game modes, and a wide range of new skins.

If you’re a mobile MOBA fan, Patch 7.1 could be one of the biggest Wild Rift updates of 2026 so far.

Three New Champions Arrive in Wild Rift Patch 7.1

Patch 7.1: Flat Out introduces three powerful champions from the League universe, each bringing a unique playstyle to the Rift.

K’Sante Enters the Rift

K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah, joins Wild Rift as a versatile top lane powerhouse. He can shift between a durable tank focused on crowd control and a high-damage skirmisher capable of turning fights when he goes All Out. Players who enjoy high-skill outplay potential will find K’Sante one of the most exciting additions this year.

Taliyah Brings Map Control to Mid Lane

Taliyah, the Stoneweaver, is arriving as a mid lane battlemage. Her signature ultimate, Weaver’s Wall, gives teams powerful map-wide control and makes her a game-changer in coordinated play. Expect Taliyah to become a strong pick for players who love strategic rotations and team-focused gameplay.

Skarner Returns With a Powerful Jungle Presence

Skarner, the Primordial Sovereign, enters the Rift as a terrain-breaking tank jungler. With the ability to gank from unexpected angles and control multiple enemies using his ultimate, Impale, Skarner is designed to dominate team fights and pressure lanes early.

Gameplay Changes and Rune System Updates

Wild Rift Patch 7.1 introduces significant gameplay improvements, particularly to the rune system. According to Riot Games, the goal is to make builds more flexible and encourage players to experiment with different strategies.

New Keystone Runes

Two new keystone runes are being added to improve gameplay diversity:

  • Guardian Keystone – Designed for defensive support champions such as Braum and Thresh
  • Ice Overlord Keystone – Created for aggressive engage supports like Rell and Leona

Alongside the new keystones, several underperforming runes are being adjusted, and overused rune combinations are being toned down. These changes are expected to improve balance and open up more creative build paths across all ranks.

Special Collaboration Announced

In line with the high-speed theme of Patch 7.1: Flat Out, Wild Rift is also teasing a collaboration with Porsche. While full details haven’t been revealed yet, the partnership is expected to bring exclusive in-game content tied to the racing theme of the update.

Racing-Themed Game Mode Updates

Patch 7.1 doesn’t just focus on champions and gameplay. It also introduces exciting changes to fan-favorite game modes.

AAA ARAM Gets a High-Speed Makeover

The AAA ARAM mode is receiving a racing-inspired upgrade, including new augments, themed visuals, and fast-paced gameplay changes designed to match the “Flat Out” concept.

  • Players can now queue in groups of up to three duos
  • Matches will start even if one faction is short a team
