Kuro Games has unveiled the first look at Wuthering Waves Version 2.7, titled Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides, during its latest Preview Special Broadcast. The update, launching October 9, 2025 (UTC+8) across all platforms, brings a wave of fresh content including new Resonators, main quests, echoes, events, and long-awaited system optimizations.
New Main Story Content
Version 2.7 continues the game’s narrative with:
- Chapter II Act X – The Bygone Shall Always Return
- Chapter II Act XI – Dawn Breaks on Dark Tides
- Afterstory – A Stranger in a Strange Land
These story chapters deepen the lore of Wuthering Waves’ post-cataclysmic world, introducing fresh challenges and character-driven moments for players to experience.
New Resonators, Weapons, and Echoes
Two new Resonators—Galbrena and Qiuyuan—make their debut in this version, each arriving in featured Convene phases with unique banners and weapons. Players can also look forward to powerful new weapons like Lux & Umbra and Emerald Sentence.
New echoes will also shake up combat strategies, including the Nightmare: Viridblaze Saurian and Nightmare: Baby Roseshroom. A new Sonata Effect, Flamewing’s Shadow, adds synergy between Echo Skills and Heavy Attacks for even deadlier combos.
Gameplay Enhancements and Optimizations
Kuro Games is also focusing heavily on player experience in Version 2.7 with a range of quality-of-life updates:
- Resonator Ascension Planner – Automatically generates upgrade plans for Resonators, weapons, echoes, and skills.
- Journey Log – A new feature that organizes Main Quests by chapter and act for easier tracking.
- Event Menu Overhaul – Divides events into Featured, Recurring, and Permanent categories with a new progress-tracking panel.
- Gallery Expansion – Now includes an “Enemies” tab for detailed foe information.
- Terminal Swap – Unlocks the new Daylight Flintstone Terminal after completing 2.7’s Main Quests.
- Visual Improvements – Global Filter, Eye Comfort settings, and expanded environmental interactions make exploration more immersive across all platforms.
Events and Rewards
Players can take part in several themed events, including Lament Recon, Freeze Frame: Action Highlights, and the Lollo Campaign: Ice Savior. Login bonuses like Gifts of Approaching Dawn and Gifts of Ink Song will also reward active players with valuable items.
