HoYoverse is ready to turn up the chills this spooky season with the arrival of Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.3, titled “Memories of Dreams Bygone”, launching worldwide on October 15, 2025. This update takes Proxies into haunted territory with new allies, eerie stories, thrilling gameplay modes, and generous rewards.
Haunted Stories Come to Life in Timesworn Hills
The centerpiece of Version 2.3 is the Timesworn Hills, a new Hollow region packed with mystery. Known for its Lumite-rich mines, the area is cloaked in chilling legends—phantom bells, missing miners, hypnotists trapping victims in endless dreams, and mysterious creatures peering into people’s hearts. Proxies will investigate unsettling disappearances tied to miners and Porcelumex staff, uncovering dark truths hidden in the ruins.
Meet the Spook Shack Agents
Joining the fray are three powerful new characters from Spook Shack, each bringing unique abilities to the battlefield:
- Lucia (S-Rank, Ether Support) – A dreamweaver who summons Ethereal recreations. Her Ether Veil: Wellspring boosts allies’ max HP and team damage, making her an invaluable support.
- Yidhari (S-Rank, Ice Rupture) – A high-risk, high-reward fighter who gains strength as her HP drops. Her ice attacks pierce defenses with guaranteed Sheer DMG.
- Komano Manato (A-Rank, Fire Rupture) – A frontline powerhouse whose attacks scale with max HP, bringing heavy Sheer DMG to battles.
In addition, Vivian (Ether – Anomaly) and Ju Fufu (Fire – Stun) return in the version’s banners, giving players another chance to recruit fan-favorite agents.
New Gameplay and Events
HoYoverse is rolling out several exciting gameplay features and limited-time events:
- Threshold Simulation – A tactical challenge requiring multiple squads across linked battles.
- When Dreams Remain Unfinished – A turn-based combat event with monster units, culminating in the chance to recruit Manato for free.
- SNAP! Shining Strike (Upgraded) – The beloved photography event returns with better controls, filters, and frames for capturing stunning in-game moments.
On top of this, Soldier 0 – Anby is receiving major combat enhancements, letting players unleash her full potential.
Free Rewards for All Players
To celebrate the new update, Proxies can claim 600 bonus Polychromes, alongside 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons, ensuring a strong start to the haunting new adventure.
