Kuaishou Gaming edged out AG.AL 4-3 to win the Honor of Kings World Cup at EWC 2026, setting the stage for an action-packed second half of the global esports season.
The Honor of Kings World Cup at Esports World Cup 2026 (KWC at EWC26) has officially wrapped up, with Kuaishou Gaming (KSG) emerging as champions after an intense seven-game Grand Final against AG.AL.
KSG secured the championship with a dramatic 4-3 victory, claiming the biggest share of the tournament’s US$3 million prize pool. KSG.JuHao was also named the Finals MVP (FMVP) following a standout performance in the deciding series.
The tournament represented a major milestone for mobile esports, as Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor teams competed together on the international stage at the Esports World Cup for the first time.
Kuaishou Gaming Survive a Seven-Game Thriller
The Grand Final between Kuaishou Gaming and AG.AL delivered one of the closest finishes of the Honor of Kings World Cup 2026.
Neither team was able to establish lasting control of the series, forcing the championship showdown all the way to a seventh and final game. KSG ultimately held their nerve when it mattered most, closing out the series 4-3 and lifting the Honor of Kings World Cup trophy.
KSG.JuHao played a key role throughout the final and was rewarded with the FMVP award for his individual impact.
Meanwhile, Geekay Esports completed the podium after sweeping ROC Esports 3-0 in the third-place match.
The result adds another major international trophy to Kuaishou Gaming’s growing résumé while highlighting the increasingly competitive nature of the global Honor of Kings esports scene.
Honor of Kings Pushes Mobile Esports Onto the Global Stage
The success of KWC at EWC26 comes as Honor of Kings continues to expand its international esports ecosystem.
“With an increasingly diverse international tournament calendar, deeper cross-regional competition and the global reach of the Esports World Cup, Honor of Kings is evolving,” said Jackie Huang, Head of Honor of Kings Global Esports, TiMi L1 Studio, Tencent Games.
He added that the game is becoming a catalyst for mobile esports worldwide by connecting players, regions and communities and helping shape what the future of a truly global mobile esports ecosystem could look like.
The inclusion of Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor at the Esports World Cup further demonstrates how mobile titles are becoming an increasingly important part of the international competitive gaming landscape.
A Strong Start to the 2026 Honor of Kings Esports Season
While Kuaishou Gaming’s World Cup victory is one of the biggest highlights of the year so far, the 2026 Honor of Kings esports season has already delivered plenty of competitive action.
The year began with NOVA Esports taking the title at the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 4 (KIS4). The event was also accompanied by the Honor of Kings Women’s Series 3 (KWS3), where HYVE All Star emerged victorious after an impressive run.
With the World Cup now complete, however, the Honor of Kings competitive calendar is only getting busier.
The second half of 2026 will feature a mix of international championships, national competitions, professional leagues, grassroots tournaments and campus events, giving teams across different levels opportunities to compete.
KIC2026 Set to Close Out the Year
The biggest event still on the horizon is the 2026 Honor of Kings International Championship (KIC2026).
Scheduled for December 2026, KIC2026 will bring together 16 of the world’s best Honor of Kings teams for another major international showdown.
The tournament is expected to serve as the final major test of the year, with teams competing for global recognition and the opportunity to finish the 2026 season as Honor of Kings world champions.
Following KSG’s World Cup triumph, the pressure will be on other top teams to challenge the new champions before the year reaches its conclusion.
Honor of Kings Heads to the Asian Games and Esports Nations Cup
The international calendar will also extend beyond traditional esports competitions.
At the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Honor of Kings will be featured as an official medal event. The esports competition is scheduled for September 27–28, giving players another opportunity to represent their countries on a major sporting stage.
Later in the year, Honor of Kings at the 2026 Esports Nations Cup (ENC 2026) will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 24–29.
The event is expected to feature 24 teams from around the world, shifting the focus from club-based competition to national representation.
Together, the Asian Games and Esports Nations Cup highlight the growing connection between esports, international competition and traditional sporting events.
Regional Honor of Kings Leagues Return for the Fall
The second half of 2026 will also bring the return of regional professional competition.
The Fall season will feature several major leagues, including the Indonesia Kings Laga (IKL), Malaysia Honor of Kings League (MKL), Philippine Kings League (PKL), Honor of Kings Brazil Championship (CHOKBR) and Honor of Kings Major League (KML).
For Filipino fans, the Philippine Kings League will be particularly important as local teams continue their pursuit of a place among the strongest Honor of Kings organizations in the region.
These regional competitions will also serve as an important proving ground for players looking to make the jump to international tournaments.
Honor of Kings Women’s Series Returns With KWS4
Women’s esports will remain a major part of the Honor of Kings competitive calendar in the coming months.
The Honor of Kings Women’s Series 4 (KWS4) is scheduled to run from September through October, with more than 36 teams expected to participate before the competition reaches its offline final.
The KWS4 World Championship is then set to take place in December alongside KIC2026, giving the women’s competitive scene another global spotlight before the end of the year.
Grassroots and Campus Esports Continue Across Southeast Asia
Honor of Kings is also continuing to invest in its grassroots ecosystem, ensuring that competitive opportunities extend beyond professional organizations.
The Honor of Kings Open Series Split 6 ran across July and August, providing a pathway for aspiring players and teams toward the regional professional leagues.
The HOK Campus Series (KCS) is also scheduled to run from August through October across Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. More than 30,000 participants are expected to take part, underscoring the growing popularity of campus-level mobile esports in Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, the HOK Campus Series Future (KCS Future) will continue through November at more than 16 secondary schools across Indonesia. The program is expected to attract more than 2,400 participants and features a total prize pool exceeding IDR 60 million.
Kuaishou Gaming’s World Cup Win Sets the Tone for a Huge Second Half
Kuaishou Gaming’s 4-3 victory over AG.AL may have brought the Honor of Kings World Cup at Esports World Cup 2026 to a close, but it is far from the end of the competitive season.
With KIC2026, the Asian Games, Esports Nations Cup, regional leagues, the Women’s Series and grassroots competitions still ahead, Honor of Kings is entering one of its busiest periods of the year.
For KSG, the immediate challenge will be maintaining their momentum after claiming one of the season’s biggest trophies. For their rivals, the race is now on to dethrone the new World Cup champions before the 2026 season reaches its grand finale.
If the KWC at EWC26 Grand Final is any indication, Honor of Kings fans can expect plenty more high-stakes mobile esports action before the year comes to an end.
