The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has officially unveiled the EWC 2025 Trophy System, returning in spectacular fashion with new elements, new symbolism, and the same mission: to immortalize greatness on the world’s biggest esports stage.
From a 9kg handcrafted silver-and-gold Club Championship Trophy by Thomas Lyte to the Totem of Legacy that stands as an eternal record of victory and defeat, the EWC Trophy System sets a new gold standard for how competition, identity, and recognition are represented in esports.
🗝️ The Four Pillars of the EWC Trophy System
First introduced in 2024 and now refined for 2025, the system is built around four core elements:
- The Key – Personalized for every competitor, the Key is a physical emblem of participation. It features a removable engraved core, housed in a custom frame. Returning champions receive enhanced Keys to mark their elite status.
- Game Trophies – Winners of each game tournament place their Key into its respective Game Trophy to claim their victory, immortalizing the moment in EWC history.
- The Totem – Standing proudly in Riyadh’s Boulevard, the Totem chronicles champions and fallen competitors alike. The outer structure is lined with winning Key frames, while crushed and resin-encased Keys from eliminated players rest at its base—a stark reminder of the cost of greatness.
- The Club Championship Trophy – The crown jewel of the EWC, this 60cm-tall silver and gold masterpiece symbolizes ultimate Club victory across all titles. Crafted by Thomas Lyte, world-renowned trophy makers to royalty and sport, the trophy features:
- Palm trunk-inspired geometry – A nod to Saudi heritage
- Crown-topped globe – Representing global dominance
- Tech-themed handles – Designed after computer wiring, reflecting esports innovation
“The EWC Trophy System captures what esports is all about—celebrating each player’s journey, their defining moments, and the legacy they build together,”
— Ralf Reichert, CEO, Esports World Cup Foundation
“In collaboration with EWC, we’ve designed something worthy of esports’ global champions—a symbol of their passion, power, and perseverance.”
— Liam Malorey-Vibert, Head of Marketing & Brand, Thomas Lyte
🎥 Immortalized in Cinematic Glory
The 2025 system is introduced through a new trailer by Territory Studio, blending brutalist architecture, futuristic aesthetics, and a hero’s journey concept titled “The Path to Immortality.” Through triangle motifs, molten sand transitions, and high-stakes Key sequences, the cinematic experience reflects the emotional and physical weight of competition.
“Will your dreams be broken, or will your name be carved in stone?”
