Get ready for chaos, nostalgia, and a whole lot of tumbling—Flipping Is Hard, the upcoming precision platformer from Elegant Horse Studios, just made a big splash during the OTK Winter Showcase with a brand-new trailer. The reveal introduces players to Flippy, a determined ’90s-style flip phone on a mission to reunite with his owner, Jeff, after an unfortunate banana-related accident.
Alongside the new trailer, the studio announced that a Steam playtest is running until November 24, giving players an early chance to flip, tumble, and rage their way through the land of lost things. A full public demo is also scheduled for December 12, 2025.
A Punishing Precision Platformer with a Retro Twist
Flipping Is Hard embraces the brutal charm of precision platformers—think big drops, narrow saves, and physics that push your patience to its limit. As Flippy, players are tasked with navigating hazardous and whimsical environments using only rotation-based movement and a vibration jump.
The story begins when little Jeff slips on a banana peel, sending Flippy sliding into a storm drain and into a world filled with forgotten toys, broken gadgets, and mysterious oddities. From dollhouse ruins to overflowing toy chests and muddy playgrounds, every zone offers fresh challenges and plenty of opportunities for accidental disaster.
