– VALORANT veteran JessieVash says ‘negativity’ caused him to step back

– Nizzy, kellyS, ZesBeeW join ahead of EWC

– Young VALORANT prodigy Jremy goes inactive; 2GE now a restricted free agent

Filipino-based VALORANT organization Team Secret shocked the local gaming community with a massive roster overhaul that saw James “2GE” Goopio, Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera and Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco exit their main five.

In separate announcements, Team Secret said 2GE will be leaving the team after just a year. Meanwhile, Jremy and longtime captain JessieVash will be inactive from the squad. This leaves Adrian “invy” Reyes and Brheyanne “Wild0reoo” Reyes as holdovers.

In his own announcement post, JessieVash admitted that negativity fueled his decision to stay on the sidelines. He also asserted that he will not retire.

“Right now I am feeling somewhat exhausted from the negative feedback from the community particularly if it is not related to the game. So I feel like I have to step out to not affect the team. Hopefully this break will help me get my energy back to compete again someday,” he said in an announcement video.

JessieVash gained notoriety in the Philippine esports scene, first through professional Dota 2 scene before hopping into VALORANT.

Team Secret also gave 2GE the opportunity to explore other teams as a restricted free agent. 2GE, a vital force in the younger force of the Adobo gang, joined Team Secret in Stage 2 of the 2024 season

“2GE, who joined Team Secret in Stage 2 of the 2024 season, has been released from the active roster and is now a restricted free agent, allowing him to explore opportunities with other teams,” Team Secret shared.

Young duelist prodigy Jremy, who has been with Team Secret for three years will move to the inactive roster. Jremy has been with the Adobo Gang since 2022. He has also been Team Secret’s first addition since the org formed a VALORANT team.

“This decision follows a challenging period. But it most certainly does not diminish the impact he has made or the potential he continues to hold,” Team Secret said.

They added: “We truly believe that he will rise to new heights in his career, with us or within a new organization,” the organization added.

This roster change comes after a disappointing season for Team Secret in the VCT Pacific League.

They finished at the bottom in both the Pacific Kickoff and Stage 1 tournaments, securing their only win in a non-consequential match against eventual champions Rex Regum Qeon.

These results likely prompted the organization to make substantial changes in hopes of improving their performance in future competitions, most immediately the upcoming ACL 2025 Esports World Cup Pacific Qualifier, with Nguyễn “Nizzy” Tấn Thành, Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo, and Sha “ZesBeeW” Mohtar joining the crew.
