The Philippine League of Legends scene is about to level up. Riot Games Philippines has officially announced that Liga Republika 2025 is now the official qualifying tournament for the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Wildcard Playoffs, offering Filipino teams a long-awaited shot at competing on the international stage.
The tournament is currently accepting registrations, which will close on June 30, giving local teams only a few days left to enter the country’s biggest LoL tournament to date.
From Local Legends to Regional Contenders
First introduced in 2024, Liga Republika was designed as a grassroots-driven competition — made by Pinoys, for Pinoys — to cultivate local League of Legends talent. This year, it becomes more than just a national competition: the winning team will earn a direct slot in the LCP Wildcard Playoffs, facing off against top teams from other regional leagues including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and South Asia.
Those who succeed in the Wildcard Playoffs will move forward to the LCP Promotion and Relegation Tournament, where a coveted spot in the official LCP — Asia Pacific’s top-tier LoL league — awaits.
“From the start, Liga Republika was built to be a sustainable platform for local players to showcase their grit, resilience, and pride,” said Joel Guzman, Country Manager of Riot Games Philippines. “Now, the path to international play is no longer a dream — it’s a structured reality.”
Tournament Schedule and Format Breakdown
Here’s what the competitive calendar looks like for Liga Republika 2025:
- Registration Deadline: June 30, 2025
- Open Qualifiers: July 4–8 (Best-of-One elimination format)
- Group Stage: July 10–13 (Top 12 teams battle it out)
- Playoffs: July 19–27
- Semifinals: Best-of-Three
- Grand Finals: Best-of-Five using the Fearless Draft Format — which restricts champion reuse and demands deeper strategy.
The winning team will take home ₱860,000 in prize money and represent the Philippines in the LCP Wildcard Playoffs, the first step toward LCP glory.
