Marvelous USA has just released two exciting trailers for Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, showcasing the 16 romance candidates players can meet in the game. Scheduled for release on May 30, 2025, for the Nintendo Switch™ and Windows PC via Steam, this action-RPG and life-simulation title promises a rich and immersive experience.
The first trailer introduces eight male marriage candidates from across Azuma, while the second trailer highlights the eligible bachelorettes. Each character brings a unique backstory and personality, adding depth to the game’s romantic possibilities. For instance, Subaru, a wandering hero from the northern part of Azuma, is on a mission to save the land, while Kaguya, his childhood friend, shares a similar quest. Other intriguing characters include Iroha, a cheerful teahouse proprietress, and Murasame, a swordsman seeking greatness.
Players will also encounter mystical beings like Ulalaka, the peaceful god of spring and mirth, and Matsuri, the boisterous god of summer and swords. Each character offers a unique dynamic, enriching the player’s journey through Azuma.
Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma takes players on an all-new adventure in the never-before-seen country of Azuma. Players assume the role of an Earth Dancer, destined to restore hope and life to the once-thriving land. With a choice of two protagonists, players will experience reimagined and expanded Rune Factory gameplay. As an Earth Dancer, players will farm with grace, restore and build villages, and fight with new weapons like the Bow and Talismans. Azuma is a vast world inspired by Japanese culture, featuring majestic villages with seasonal themes.
In addition to exploration, combat, and village-building, players will cultivate relationships with the locals, recruiting them for battle or village management. The game also introduces sacred treasures of the gods and the Earth Dancer’s power of dance to purify the land and return Azuma to its former glory.
