Teamfight Tactics is heading into a magical new era as Riot Games officially reveals Enchanted Wilds, an enchanting set packed with new mechanics, imaginative champions, hidden synergies, and fresh cosmetics. Launching on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) later this month, the upcoming update promises one of TFT’s most flexible and creative gameplay experiences yet.
Riot Games Introduces Teamfight Tactics: Enchanted Wilds
Riot Games has officially lifted the curtain on Teamfight Tactics: Enchanted Wilds, the next major set arriving for the hit auto-battler. Inspired by enchanted forests, fairy tales, mythical creatures, and magical ecosystems, the upcoming expansion introduces a brand-new gameplay mechanic, innovative traits, powerful Legendary champions, and a variety of cosmetic content for players to collect.
The announcement came through Riot’s latest TFT Dev Drop, giving fans an extensive preview of what awaits when Enchanted Wilds arrives on the Public Beta Environment (PBE) on July 28, 2026.
With gameplay centered around exploration, adaptability, and creative team-building, Enchanted Wilds looks set to refresh the TFT meta while offering plenty of strategic depth for newcomers and veteran tacticians alike.
Wisps Become the Heart of Enchanted Wilds
The defining feature of Teamfight Tactics: Enchanted Wilds is the introduction of Wisps, magical forest spirits that serve as temporary, single-use enhancements available in each player’s shop.
Building upon the popular Charms mechanic introduced in Magic N’ Mayhem, Wisps provide players with meaningful strategic decisions every round. They can grant combat advantages, economic bonuses, additional experience, or even high-risk rewards that can dramatically shift the outcome of a match.
Players may purchase one Wisp per round, with increasingly powerful options becoming available as the game progresses.
Beyond gameplay improvements, Riot has also redesigned the mechanic with upgraded visuals, clearer interfaces, expanded Wisp variety, and progression systems that evolve throughout the match. Each Wisp is also fully animated, bringing personality to every purchase as they dash, hop, swim, or fly across the battlefield.
New Traits Encourage Creative Team Compositions
One of the biggest highlights of Enchanted Wilds is its collection of new Origins and Traits designed to reward experimentation.
Riftbeasts Bring League’s Jungle Monsters Into TFT
Riftbeasts transform familiar League of Legends jungle monsters into recruitable allies.
Using the new Alpha Mark system, players can enhance individual creatures with specialized buffs inspired by League’s iconic jungle enhancements. Red and Blue buffs make their return alongside exclusive TFT additions, including Purple for adaptive poison and Orange for armor reduction.
As players invest further into the trait, additional Riftbeasts begin appearing in the shop, eventually allowing entire monster stampedes to join the battlefield. At the highest tier, players can recruit the mighty Elder Dragon, a powerful two-slot unit capable of dominating late-game encounters.
Elderwood Grows Stronger Throughout the Match
The Elderwood trait introduces interactive forest plants that players can strategically place on the battlefield.
These magical plants provide defensive bonuses, empower allies, and even create additional frontline support, making Elderwood one of the set’s most flexible vertical traits capable of fitting into numerous compositions.
Sunbeam, Moonbeam, and the Secret Eclipse Trait
One of Enchanted Wilds’ most intriguing additions is a hidden synergy system.
Sunbeam grants shields and bonus magic damage that scales with additional three-star units.
Moonbeam increases attack speed and magic damage for Moonbeam champions and nearby allies.
However, combining both traits unlocks the secret Eclipse trait, causing the battlefield to periodically execute the lowest-health enemy unit once the sun and moon align during combat.
Blossom Supercharges Every Wisp
Players who embrace the new Wisp mechanic can build around the Blossom trait.
Blossom upgrades every Wisp purchased, increasing their overall effectiveness while unlocking additional interactions as the trait scales throughout the game.
Legendary Champions Add New Ways to Play
Several new Legendary champions bring unique mechanics unlike anything previously seen in Teamfight Tactics.
Draven Introduces Personal Bounty Objectives
Draven comes equipped with an exclusive bounty system that generates personal objectives during matches.
Completing these challenges rewards players with everything from additional economy to valuable combat advantages, encouraging proactive gameplay throughout every stage.
Ivern Literally Changes the Battlefield
Perhaps the most innovative champion in the set is Ivern, who introduces the exclusive Greenfather trait.
As Ivern casts abilities, he plants magical seeds that gradually transform the board into different environments, including forests, bogs, canyons, and waterfalls.
Each biome provides unique bonuses depending on where units are positioned, while completing the entire landscape culminates in the appearance of the mystical God-Willow.
Lux Returns With Flexible Origins
Returning from Set 2, Lux arrives as a versatile Legendary capable of supporting multiple Origins.
Once recruited, Lux counts twice toward her selected Origin while simultaneously preventing other players from obtaining her with the same Origin unless she is sold, introducing an entirely new layer of strategic drafting.
Carousel Returns Alongside Greater Team-Building Freedom
Enchanted Wilds also marks the return of the beloved Carousel, bringing back the familiar champion and item drafting rounds that have long been a staple of Teamfight Tactics.
Riot is also lowering trait breakpoints across many compositions, allowing players to mix and match synergies more freely while still rewarding those who commit to large vertical traits like Elderwood and Riftbeasts.
Combined with Wisps, splashable champions, hidden traits, and versatile Legendary units, the new set emphasizes flexibility over rigid compositions.
New Cosmetics Launch With Enchanted Wilds
Players can also expect a fresh lineup of collectible cosmetics when the set launches.
New Chibi Little Legends include Chibi Soul Fighter Jinx, featuring an original TFT-exclusive appearance, alongside Chibi Office Aatrox.
The update also introduces Jinx’s Tournament of Chaos Arena, while Unbound cosmetics will feature Spirit Blossom Springs Aphelios and Coven LeBlanc.
Convergence Fest Brings TFT and Riftbound Together
Beyond gameplay, Riot also announced Convergence Fest, a major community event combining the TFT Vegas Open and the Riftbound North America Regional Championship.
The event will take place in Las Vegas from December 11–13, 2026, giving players opportunities to compete, watch high-level matches, and connect with fellow strategy game fans during Riot’s biggest strategy-focused event to date.
Additional competition details will be revealed closer to the event.
Riot Developers Explain the Vision Behind Enchanted Wilds
Matthew “Wittrock” Wittrock, Set Design Lead for Teamfight Tactics, explained that the goal was to create a set focused on discovery and player freedom.
“Enchanted Wilds is a set focused on flexibility and exploration. We wanted to build a world where every game feels like a new path through a magical forest, whether you’re commanding a stampede of Riftbeasts, cultivating a living biome with Ivern, or discovering the hidden trait, Eclipse. With Wisps bringing new life to a familiar mechanic, Enchanted Wilds gives plenty of ways for players to shape their journey.”
Set Mechanic Lead Sam Judd also highlighted the return of one of TFT’s most beloved systems in an upgraded form.
“It’s been five sets since fan-favorite mechanic, Charms, has been in TFT, and we’re thrilled to bring them back with a few upgrades as Wisps. Wisps have a total visual overhaul with adorable forest denizens, UI improvements for buying them on the fly, and gameplay quality of life adjustments making them more charming, and more fun than ever before!”
Teamfight Tactics Enchanted Wilds Arrives Later This Month
With magical forests, evolving battlefields, hidden traits, and one of the most ambitious mechanics TFT has introduced in recent sets, Teamfight Tactics: Enchanted Wilds is shaping up to be a major evolution for Riot’s acclaimed auto-battler.
Players eager to experience the new set won’t have to wait long, as Enchanted Wilds officially arrives on the Public Beta Environment beginning July 28, 2026, ahead of its worldwide release.
