Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 is preparing to take Trailblazers somewhere completely different. Titled “To Roll the Stars in Astropolis,” the upcoming update launches on August 26, 2026, bringing a new Trailblaze Continuance, summer-themed versions of Robin and Aventurine, fresh events, gameplay improvements, and major hints at what lies ahead for the Astral Express crew.
Announced by HoYoverse on August 14, Version 4.5 follows the aftermath of the Express Crew’s battle against Lord Ravager Asat Pramad. With the mysterious Voracity emerging and Planarcadia facing another devastating crisis, the Trailblazer must travel to Astropolis in search of the power needed to protect the embattled world.
But this journey will not be all business. Alongside the high-stakes story, Version 4.5 is also turning Astropolis into an interstellar summer destination, complete with new character variants, racing activities, relaxed mini-games, and plenty of surprises.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 Takes the Trailblazer to Astropolis
The arrival of the Voracity has once again thrown Planarcadia into chaos. Following the Express Crew’s victory over Lord Ravager Asat Pramad, the Trailblazer is forced to look beyond the immediate battlefield for a way to counter the growing threat.
That search leads directly to Astropolis, one of the most important strongholds within the vast business empire of the Interastral Peace Corporation.
Astropolis is more than just another stop on the Trailblaze. The city represents the luxurious side of the IPC, serving as a playground for influential executives, wealthy tycoons, envoys, and officials from across the Pan-Cosmic Trade System.
The new Trailblaze Continuance will see the Trailblazer navigate Astropolis while attempting to secure the strength necessary to help Planarcadia survive its latest calamity. At the same time, the story promises a lighter side to the journey as the Trailblazer enjoys an unexpected summer vacation with Robin and Aventurine.
The result is a Version 4.5 storyline that looks set to balance the increasingly serious cosmic conflict with a colorful getaway unlike anything the Astral Express has experienced before.
Robin • Summeretto Brings a New Summer Soundtrack
One of the biggest highlights of Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 is the arrival of Robin • Summeretto, a new 5-star Wind character following the Path of Remembrance.
After Sunday’s departure from Penacony, Robin has stepped into the role of head of the Oak Family. However, her responsibilities extend well beyond managing the family.
In Astropolis, Robin is pursuing a secret mission connected to Gopher Wood’s mysterious “legacy.” While she may be known throughout the cosmos for her musical performances, this time she will be taking her talents directly into battle.
Robin • Summeretto fights alongside her little bird band, supporting her allies through music and powerful team-wide buffs. Her teammates’ actions allow her to build Vibes, which can eventually push the team into a powerful Fever Pitch state.
Once activated, Fever Pitch provides buffs whenever allies attack, with the effects becoming stronger as the team takes more actions.
Her Ultimate also gives Robin • Summeretto another way to control the flow of battle. She can immediately advance the action of a designated teammate while restoring Energy and increasing her own Vibes.
Adding even more personality to her Astropolis appearance, Robin will debut a brand-new single titled “Only by Chasing the Wind.” The song is expected to provide an appropriately summery soundtrack to the new chapter of her story.
Aventurine • Waveflair Rides Into Version 4.5
The second half of the update shifts the spotlight to Aventurine • Waveflair, a new 5-star Quantum character following the Path of Elation.
While Aventurine may appear to be enjoying a relaxing holiday in Astropolis, he is still working behind the scenes. His vacation gives him an opportunity to exploit his connections and resources as he continues investigating his suspicions surrounding a possible traitor among the Ten Stonehearts.
This version of Aventurine also embraces his love of sports and surfing. His combat animations feature beach volleyball and surfing-inspired attacks, giving the character a distinctly different personality from his more formal appearances.
Aventurine • Waveflair builds Punchline and Fervor as he and his teammates take actions. Once enough Fervor has accumulated, he can trigger an additional Elation Skill that attacks all enemies while also dealing multiple instances of random single-target damage.
His Elation Skill can receive another boost during the following Aha Instant, with the damage scaling higher as the team takes more actions.
For players who enjoy fast-paced team rotations and characters who benefit from frequent actions, Aventurine • Waveflair could become one of the most interesting additions to the Version 4.5 roster.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 Character Banners and Light Cones
The Version 4.5 Event Warps will be divided between the two new summer character variants.
When the update launches on August 26, the first half will feature boosted drop rates for Robin • Summeretto and her 5-star Light Cone, “Rise and Sing.”
The first half will also include a rerun for the limited 5-star character Hyacine, while the 4-star Light Cone “A Little Getaway” joins the Event Warps.
The second half begins on September 12, 2026, bringing boosted drop rates for Aventurine • Waveflair and his 5-star Light Cone, “Summer Rides the Surf.” The limited 5-star character Ashveil will also receive a rerun during this phase.
With two new 5-star character variants and multiple reruns, Version 4.5 is shaping up to be an important update for both collectors and players looking to expand their teams.
Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix Brings Racing to the Astral Express
Astropolis is not just about story missions and character banners. Version 4.5 is also introducing a major racing-themed event called “Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix.”
This time, the Trailblazer will take on the role of team principal, guiding their racing crew as they attempt to establish themselves as the next big stars of the track.
The racing event adds another playful activity to the update and should provide a welcome change of pace from Honkai: Star Rail’s traditional turn-based battles.
Alongside the Grand Prix, the “Minuscule Great Adventure” event will introduce a collection of relaxing stage challenges for players looking for something more casual.
Divergent Universe and Double-Drop Events Get New Content
Version 4.5 will also bring changes beyond Astropolis.
The Divergent Universe is receiving a gameplay update, giving players another reason to revisit one of Honkai: Star Rail’s more challenging combat-focused modes.
Two double-drop events will also be available during the update: “Planar Fissure” and “Realm of the Strange.” These events will provide additional opportunities for players to gather valuable rewards while developing their characters.
Players can also pick up a new piece of Trailblaze Fashion in the form of the electronic emoti standee headwear “Aw, Look Up Here.”
Version 4.5 Finally Adds a Story Dialogue Speed Option
One of the more practical changes arriving with Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 is a new story dialogue speed option.
Starting with Version 4.5, players will be able to speed up story dialogue and toggle the feature on or off whenever they want during story conversations.
The addition should be particularly useful for players replaying story content, catching up on previously completed sections, or simply looking to move through dialogue at a faster pace.
Honkai: Star Rail Teases a Zenless Zone Zero Collaboration
HoYoverse is also looking beyond Version 4.5 with two major collaboration announcements.
First, Honkai: Star Rail has officially partnered with MOONDROP, with Sparxie-themed collaboration products and various online and offline activities planned for multiple regions. More information about the collaboration will be revealed at a later date.
Even more surprising is the announcement of a future crossover with Zenless Zone Zero.
Later in 2026, characters from Zenless Zone Zero will enter the world of Honkai: Star Rail for a cosmic adventure. HoYoverse has not yet revealed the full details of the crossover, leaving plenty of room for speculation about which characters could make the jump between the two games.
For fans of HoYoverse’s interconnected worlds, this could become one of the most anticipated collaborations of the year.
When Does Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 Release?
Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.5 “To Roll the Stars in Astropolis” launches on August 26, 2026.
The update will introduce the new Astropolis storyline, Robin • Summeretto, Aventurine • Waveflair, new Light Cones, character reruns, the Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix event, Minuscule Great Adventure, Divergent Universe updates, double-drop activities, and the new story dialogue speed option.
The second half of Version 4.5 is scheduled to begin on September 12, 2026, when Aventurine • Waveflair and his signature Light Cone become available.
With its combination of a major story chapter, summer-themed characters, new gameplay activities, and future crossover teases, Version 4.5 looks set to be another substantial chapter in Honkai: Star Rail’s expanding cosmic journey.
